CORPS, SEXE ET POUVOIR POLITIQUE DANS LA FILLE DU SILENCE DE DIEGOU BAILLY

RESUME
Corps, sexe et pouvoir politique dans La fille du silence de Diégou Bailly, telle est l’intitulé de notre contribution. La présente étude se propose d’analyser les trois concepts à la lumière du roman éponyme de Diégou Bailly tant il accorde une place de choix à leurs rapports inextricables. Comment fonctionnent ces trois concepts dans leurs interactions ? Sous quels symbolismes l’auteur les évoque-t-il et pour quels enjeux ? Dans une perspective socio-historique, le travail montre qu’un corps abusé et désabusé peut se retourner contre le pouvoir et passer de victime pour devenir une arme redoutable de combat politique. Même si la question de la prostitution n’est pas étrangère à la littérature, elle se double ici de l’aspect politique et revêt par ailleurs un symbolisme qui transcende le corps féminin pour interpeller tout le corps social.

ABSTRACT
Body, sex and political power in Diégou Bailly’s La fille du silence, such is the title of our contribution. This study aims to analyze the three concepts in the frame of Diégou Bailly’s eponymous novel in so far as the writer puts their inextricable relationships in the limelight. How do these three concepts operate in their interactions? Under what symbolism does the author evoke them, and for which stakes? In a socio-historical perspective, this work shows that an abused and disillusioned body can be turned against the power and, from a victim, become a deadly weapon of political struggle. Even if the issue of prostitution is not foreign to literature, it adds the political aspect and is also covered with a symbol that transcends the female body to encapsulate the whole social body.
